Church Members to Distribute $100 Bills To Needy

11/27/2002 - More than a dozen churches in Middle Tennessee yesterday sent their congregants away with crisp $100 bills to spread through the community in acts of kindness over this holiday season. All told, $50,000 was distributed to be given — no strings attached — to strangers who may be in need or neighbors who are down on their luck.

11/22/2002 - He could have spent the money on himself. After all, he earned it through hard work and ingenuity. And there are so many things beyond the basics to buy these days. He could have given the $100,000 to his college alma mater. And for such a kind gift to higher education, he would have received a lot of justifiable publicity.


Nashvillians Sowing Seeds of Kindness by Giving

11/12/2002 - The workers passed the homeless couple each morning. The downtown Nashville parking garage doubled as an informal homeless shelter. Instead of being repelled, some of the workers started talking with the couple. Acquaintances became friends. As the holiday season approached last year, the workers decided on a Christmas miracle.
